Ben Stokes gives another reason for Australia to hit back after the latest nightclub outing before Ashes

Ben Stokes: England are trailing 0-2 in the ongoing Ashes series, and the reason for this might be a non-cricketing one. England skipper Ben Stokes went to a nightclub just four days before the Ashes opener with Paul Collingwood and Carlton star Dale Thomas. Not only Stokes was drinking bottles of vodka, but he was also seen dancing around.

“I went out on the gas on Saturday night with Ben Stokes, Paul Collingwood, and the big left-hand opener, Graeme Smith, from South Africa,” Thomas told Triple M.

“We had a vodka. Four days before the Ashes and Ben walks us into a nightclub — he, I, and a couple of others in the back booth, and he’s dancing around with bottles of vodka and having a good time.”

ENG vs AUS Headingley Ashes Test on Red Alert after Lord’s controversy

Stokes, who had just played one of finest innings in the Lord’s Test and almost enabled a series-leveling win for England has once again come under the scanner. While the southpaw is known as a party animal, fans are wondering if this is a bit too close before the Ashes series. With England needing to win all three Test matches to win Ashes, Stokes nightclub party update is proving to be a dampener.

Ben Stokes: Throwback to Ben Stokes partying in Bristol in 2017

This is not the first time Stokes has come under the scanner with his nightclub image. In 2017, the southpaw had an ugly brawl in the Bristol bar, which led to a 15-month exile. At that time, the England captain said he did not want to be remembered for the guy who fought in the street.

“I don’t want to be remembered as the guy who had a fight in the street. I want to do things on the field to be remembered for. If we win the World Cup, that becomes the first paragraph… doesn’t it?”

While Stokes kept that promise and won the World Cup for England in 2019, he broke another promise of not feeling the urge to go to club anymore.

“I used to love going out and celebrating with the lads. But we can do that in the hotel, and I don’t miss it. I don’t feel that urge anymore. Once you make the transition to not doing it then you don’t miss it,” Stokes said.
