South Africa kick start their plans for the 2027 World Cup at home with a series against England. The Temba Bavuma led side will play 3 ODIs against Harry Brook’s transitional England side starting September 2. The Proteas arrive on the land they won the World Test Championship in June, and will hope to translate that into the 50-over format as well.
The hosts meanwhile having dominated white ball cricket in the late 2010s, have been under a rock. Harry Brook has taken over from Jos Buttler, while Moeen Ali, Ben Stokes and a few key personnel have all stepped away. With a couple years to the World Cup, the Three Lions will be aiming to build up their arsenal in the format they have struggled for a while.
