India closed Day 3 at 64/1 with KL Rahul (28) and Karun Nair (7) unbeaten on the crease, extending the lead by 244 runs. India lost Yashasvi Jaiswal for 28 to Josh Tingue. Mohammed Siraj bagged 6/70 while Akash Deep returned with 4/88 as India bowled England out for 407 runs to take a 180-run lead.
Harry Brook and Jamie Smith put up a record 303-run stand for the sixth wicket but after Brook was dismissed, England lost five wickets for 20 runs.
