ENG vs AUS: Rain forces the end of play on Day 3 in the second Ashes Test at Lord’s. After clinching eight wickets for just 47 runs and restricting England to 325 in the very first session, Australia started their second innings in a commanding manner. Warner and Khawaja stitched up a 63-run opening partnership and took their lead past 150. The world’s No. 1 Test batter, Labuschagne, then joined Khawaja, and the duo took the lead after passing 200. The Ben Stokes-led side still has a tall task ahead of them as they trail by 221 runs and still have 8 wickets to take.

Steve Smith REGISTERS 32nd Test Ton, Extends Century count among Fab 4

England’s first innings got off to a good start thanks to openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett. However, Crawley departed after scoring 48. Nevertheless, Duckett carried on and fell two runs short of his century. In the third session, Australia resorted to a short ball attack, but England had already scored fast and appeared to be in control.

England lost three wickets, including Joe Root’s, until Ben Stokes and Harry Brook settled things down and got them through to the end. At the end of Day 2, England were 278/4 and trail Australia by 138 runs. The England skipper is currently 18 not out and the hosts would be counting on him to do the majority of the scoring on Day 3.
