IPL 2026 final in Ahmedabad
The BCCI has revealed the schedule for the IPL 2026 playoffs. Dharamshala will host Qualifier 1, while the Eliminator and Qualifier 2 will be held in Mullanpur, home of last year’s finalists, PBKS. Bengaluru was to host the final, but the BCCI has changed the venue to Ahmedabad due to ‘certain requirements’.
Hardik Pandya injury update
Hardik Pandya is expected to miss the RCB vs MI match on May 10. The all-rounder had missed the last match against LSG on May 4 due to back spasms. Hardik was to travel to Raipur but wasn’t present with the team at the Mumbai airport.
BCCI’s Test plan
After 2 whitewashes at home, the BCCI will hold a camp to develop the next line of Test cricketers. The camp will feature 55-60 players, including Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre, from April to June, under the supervision of VVS Laxman, Zaheer Khan, and L Balaji. Then, in September and October, Australia A and Under-19 teams will tour India.

Suryakumar Yadav to miss RCB vs MI match
It’s believed that Suryakumar Yadav will miss the RCB match as well. He’s expecting his firstborn with his wife, Devisha Shetty, and won’t be available for the game. Since Hardik won’t be available and he’s MI’s vice-captain, it’s a question of who’ll lead the team. The two options MI have are Jasprit Bumrah and Tilak Varma.
Punjab Kings’ catching woes
PBKS lost to SRH by 33 runs in Hyderabad. The reason behind the defeat was Punjab’s horrible fielding. Last year’s finalists dropped 3 matches and missed a stumping in the space of 4 overs. Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen made full use of the reprieves, scoring 92 runs off 52 combined.
Pakistan’s tri-series with England & Sri Lanka
As part of the 2027 ODI World Cup preparations, England and Sri Lanka will tour Pakistan for a tri-series in October and November. The PCB is yet to finalise the schedule, but Lahore and Karachi are expected to be the two venues for the tri-series. Before this, Pakistan will tour England for 3 Tests.
