India cricket team will be aiming to make quick amends in the series against England that begins on July 1 after being shocked by Ireland last week. New captain Shreyas Iyer, who is facing the heat for delaying Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s debut, has remained tight-lipped about the team combination for the IND vs ENG 1st T20I. Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar Reddy is still recovering from his quadriceps injury and is racing against time to be fit for the IND vs ENG ODI series that commences from July 14. Talking about injuries, Hardik Pandya has taken a significant decision to shift to Bengaluru in order to use the facilities at the BCCI’s CoE for the rest of his career. Further delay in Sooryavanshi’s debut?

India cricket team captain Shreyas Iyer was asked about the lineup on the eve of the India vs England 1st T20I at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street. But India’s T20I captain didn’t want to reveal the combination, as the opposition would be able to plan against them. This comes after the star had stated in Belfast that the youngster must wait for his opportunity. This time around too, he maintained a similar response. Iyer praised the teenager but stated that others, who were ahead of him, deserve a proper run as well. Read more here.

When will Nitish Reddy return?

Nitish Kumar Reddy is yet to regain full fitness, is out of the 20-over format series, and now is in race against time to be fully fit for the IND vs ENG ODIs. As per a report, the BCCI medical team has advised him extended period of rest; he is yet to begin his rehab. He is undergoing a quadriceps injury, and has been out of action since the third ODI against Afghanistan in Chennai. It is still not certain though, if he will be fit in time for the ODI series starting on July 14. Read more here.

Hardik Pandya moves to Bengaluru

Hardik Pandya has decided to shift his training base from Mumbai to Bengaluru. Originally from Baroda in Gujarat, the all-rounder has spent most of his cricket career training at the Reliance Corporate Park in Ghansoli, the Mumbai Indians (MI) official facility. Due to his tryst with injuries, Pandya has been spending quite a bit of time at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru. From the start of the year, the 32-year-old has been in and out of the BCCI facility. Since the IPL 2026 season ended, Pandya has been at the CoE, recovering from a quadriceps injury. Australia seal Women’s T20 World Cup final berth

Australia, are into their 8th Women’s T20 World Cup final. On June 30 in London, the 6-time champions demolished the West Indies women’s cricket team at The Oval in the first semifinal of the 2026 edition of the tournament. Now, Australia awaits one of England or South Africa, who will face off in the second semifinal at The Oval on July 2. The final will be played at Lord’s on July 5. Read more here.

Jofra Archer rested for ENG vs IND 1st T20I

The ECB has announced England’s cricket team’s playing eleven for the opening game of the 5-match T20I series against the India cricket team. Jofra Archer, who played two Test matches against New Zealand, the last of which ended on June 29 in Nottingham, has been rested. The turnaround between the Test and T20I was just 2 days, and England won’t risk Archer getting injured. James Coles, who earned his maiden England call-up, hasn’t been included. Read more here.

India Women’s Asian Games 2026 squad out

Two days after India Women’s cricket team was knocked out of the ICC Women’s T20 World cup 2026, the BCCI has named the squad for the Asian Games 2026. Harmanpreet Kaur will continue to lead the Women in Blue, who are the defending champions, with Smriti Mandhana serving as her deputy. Yastika Bhatia has been dropped from the squad after a lacklustre performance in the T20 World Cup while G Kamalini returns to the side for the Asian Games 2026. Read more here.
