Ace India Cricket Team star Virat Kohli had a difficult tour of Australia in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Naturally, questions were raised on his performance and his poor ability of shot playing on his dismissals. But ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy, Mohammad Kaif reminded everyone not to write Kohli off in white ball cricket.
Despite his struggles in red-ball cricket, Kaif continues to back the ace batter. He claimed that Virat Kohli never accepts defeat and it will be foolish to write him off. Kaif claimed that Kolhi is a different beast in white ball cricket and after his poor form, he will be inching closer to making a strong comeback.
Virat Kohli Eager for a comeback
“Virat Kohli never accepts defeat and always makes a comeback. Don’t write him off in white ball cricket, the picture is far from over because he has 50 ODI tons to his name and nearly 13,000 runs in ODIs. So, forget what happened in Tests,” Mohammad Kaif said on his YouTube channel.
Back in the 2023 ODI World Cup, Virat Kohli was in a league of his own. He became the highest run-getter of the tournament, amassing 765 runs with a stunning average of 95.62.
“He plays differently in white ball. The last time Virat Kohli played in Dubai, he scored an unbeaten 122 off 61 balls against Afghanistan and smashed six sixes in his innings. His form was excellent and he loves playing in Dubai so, I expect him to do well with the bat in the Champions Trophy,” Kaid added.

Kaif also claimed that if Kohli manages to kickstart the tournament on a positive note then there is no stopping him. Kaif is certain that Kohli will be deadly. He further named Kohli as the King of white ball cricket.
“If he scores well in the opening game, then he will keep scoring runs, I can take that guarantee. Virat Kohli white ball me ek betaaj badshah hai (Virat Kohli is an uncrowned king in white ball cricket). The era has not ended, it will continue,” Kaif concluded.
