It’ll be India A vs Dinesh Karthik when the England Lions tour India for a 3-match series. Ahead of the tour starting on January 12, Karthik has been added to the Lions’ coaching staff as a batting consultant. Apart from Karthik, Ian Bell and Graeme Swann will also be part of the Lions coaching setup.
Dinesh Karthik will work as an expert on Indian conditions and will work under England Lions head coach Neil Killeen. Karthik will also work alongside familiar faces Ian Bell and Graeme Swann.
While Bell will work with Karthik as a fellow batting consultant, Swann will be part of the coaching staff as a mentor.
On having Karthik as part of their coaching staff for the England Lions, Performance Director of England Cricket, Mo Bobat, said:
“And it’s fantastic to have Dinesh Karthik with us for a part of our prep period and leading into the first Test. I’m sure the lads will love spending time with him and benefiting from his experience of what it takes to be successful at Test level in India.”
