“He (Nayar) made him get up at 2 am in the night and made him run over the hills. He will design practice sessions for him and he travelled like a tennis player. A power hitting coach RX Murali was hired. There is a team which works and talks to him,” Krishna Kumar was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.

Nayar played in three One-Day Internationals for India against the West Indies in 2009, but he did not contribute much. Later, when Dinesh Karthik was the Kolkata Knight Riders captain, he transitioned to coaching and joined the franchise staff. Karthik was motivated by Nayar to seek a career as a specialist death-overs batter. To help him navigate the process, he hired his own coach, trainer, and psychologist.
Dinesh Karthik made 330 runs in 16 games while playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL), at an incredible strike rate of 183.33. Nobody knew if he would ever make it to the Indian team until he showed off his finishing abilities in the IPL.
Karthik has played some important innings after making a comeback and assisted India in winning matches. Fans will be hoping that he performs well in the next stages of the competition after he failed to lead the squad to victory in an exciting battle against Pakistan.
