Did Goenka & LSG officials deliberately miss presentation ceremony after loss to PBKS?

LSG have been accused of boycotting the post-match presentation ceremony after losing to PBKS by 8 wickets

Lucknow Super Giants have landed in yet another controversy in IPL 2025. After a series of LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka’s animated chats in public view with captain Rishabh Pant, the team has now been accused of boycotting the post-match presentation ceremony after losing to PBKS. Pant and co. were handed a 8-wicket defeat by the Kings in the their first match at home on Tuesday.

LSG land up in yet another controversy

As per My Khel, LSG have been accused of failing to send a representative for the post-match presentation. The report states that the team was bound to do so since they were the hosts for the tie against PBKS. Further, the report claims that no official from LSG was a part of the ceremony despite owner Goenka and few other officials being on field after the defeat to PBKS.

However, the report cited a source from LSG claiming that no such arrangements were made.

Mr Goenka was on the field and there was no such arrangement at all,” the official was quoted as saying.

However, contradicting the LSG source, the report claims that Sanjiv Goenka’s name was on the guest list for the post-match presentation but was later cancelled.

If that is the case, LSG should have sent one of their franchise officials for the post-match presentation?” claimed another source, as per the publication.

LSG have lost two out of the three matches they have played so far. The first lost their IPL 2025 opener against DC by 1 wicket. Pant & co. then bounced back with a 5-wicket win against SRH. However, they lost the very next game to PBKS, which also happened to be their first game at home in this season.

Pant and co. will next take on Mumbai Indians on Friday in their second home match at the Ekana.
