Christmas came early for Australia’s star pacer Mitchell Starc who was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for a whopping Rs 24.75 crore at the IPL 2024 auction in Dubai on Tuesday.
Soon after the hammer went down, a reaction video of Starc’s wife and Australia women’s team skipper Alyssa Healy went viral on social media.
In the viral video, Healy can be seen raising her eyebrows and drinking a glass of beer.
The video garnered worldwide attention and several media outlets, including Fox Sports Australia covered the reaction news.
However, Healy cleared the air on Monday and revealed that the viral video was in fact an old one and she was actually working out at the gym during the auction.
“I was in the gym. Was not thinking of beers, according to social media. I was actually in the gym working hard, watching it all unfold. But yeah, an amazing day for him and Pat (Cummins)”, Healy told the media ahead of training session at the Wankhede Stadium.
Notably, Alyssa Healy-led Australia team is currently in India for an all-format tour.
The tour will kickstart with a one-off Test, starting on December 21 in Mumbai followed by a 3-match ODI series. The tour will conclude with a 3-match T20I series in Navi Mumbai.
