Delhi’s Arun Jaitley stadium receives bomb threat in revenge of Operation Sindoor

DDCA has reportedly received a mail threating a bomb blast at the venue amid IPL 2025

The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has received a bomb threat following the suspension of IPL 2025. The ongoing Indian T20 league has been suspended for a week amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan over the last two days. The next match that was supposed to take place as per the earlier schedule was on May 11 where DC were set to lock horns with GT.

Bomb threat for DC vs GT

As per news agency IANS, the DDCA received a mail from alleged terrorists who claimed that they were planning to blow up the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The mail allegedly claimed that the action would be in response to Indian Armed Forces’ Operation Sindoor.

 “There will be a bomb blast in your stadium. We have a committed Pakistan sleeper cell active in India. The blast will be our revenge of Operation Sindoor,” reads the mail.

IPL 2025 suspended

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to suspend the remainder of the ongoing TATA IPL 2025 with immediate effect for one week. Further updates regarding the new schedule and venues of the tournament will be announced in due course after a comprehensive assessment of the situation in consultation with relevant authorities and stakeholders,” an press release from IPL read.

So far 58 out of 69 matches have been completed in IPL 2025. The game between PBKS and DC in Dharamsala on Thursday was abandoned mid-way due to a “significant technical failure”. This was around the same time when Pakistan had launched attacks on various Indian cities across the border.

For the record, DC are placed 5th on the points table with 13 points to their name. They need to win all three remaining league stage games to make it to the IPL 2025 playoffs.
