The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) has revealed the window and the auction details for the 2026 edition of the Delhi Premier League (DPL). The domestic T20 tournament will be held from July 31 to August 30 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The auction will take place on July 1.
DPL 2026 season dates out
Last season, fast bowler Simarjeet Singh was the most expensive buy at the men’s auction with the West Delhi Lions, captained by Nitish Rana, going on to lift their maiden DPL title. In the women’s league, South Delhi Superstarz, led by Shweta Sehrawat, emerged as champions.
“Year on year, the Delhi Premier League has continued to get better and the quality of cricket on display has reflected the depth of talent that exists in Delhi. The league has quickly become an important part of our cricketing calendar and has generated tremendous interest among players and supporters alike.
We have seen several cricketers perform strongly in the DPL and go on to represent teams at the highest levels of the game. The league has become an integral part of the talent identification pathway in Delhi cricket, and we are confident that Season 3 will once again provide a platform for the next generation of players to showcase their abilities,” said DDCA President Rohan Jaitley.
Availability concerns
Rishabh Pant, who missed the last season due to a foot injury, might turn up for the first half of the tournament. Out of the reckoning in India’s ODI and T20I teams, Pant might play a game or two before leaving for Sri Lanka for a 2-match Test series away from home.
Big names like Priyansh Arya, Prince Yadav and Harshit Rana might miss a game or two, as the India vs Zimbabwe T20I series will run from July 23 to 26. Other India and Indian Premier League (IPL) stars Ishant Sharma, Nitish Rana, Navdeep Saini, Ayush Badoni, Anuj Rawat, Suyash Sharma, Digvesh Rathi, Yash Dhull, and Himmat Singh will be in action.
The women’s DPL is expected to feature star players such as Shweta Sehrawat, Priya Punia, Soni Yadav and Ayushi Soni, alongside exciting talents including Tanisha Singh, Nazma, Monika and Purva Siwach. The four women’s teams will compete simultaneously with the men’s competition from July 31 to August 30.
