Delhi Capitals’ twitter account hacked, IPL franchise deletes post minutes later

Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Capitals' (DC) Twitter account has been hacked.

In a concerning incident, the official Twitter account of the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Delhi Capitals was hacked on Wednesday, September 18. The breach coincided with the alleged “national hacking day,” a day often associated with increased cyber activity. Fortunately, DC deleted the post a few minutes later the incident.

The hacked Delhi Capitals account posted a suspicious link, believed to be part of a scam targeting users of the Raydium decentralized exchange platform. These links potentially led to malicious websites designed to steal personal information or cryptocurrency.

Joining the list of victims is also the former Arsenal footballer Alexander Lacazette. His Twitter account was also compromised, sharing identical content to the Delhi Capitals account. It is often that even well-established accounts can fall victim to sophisticated hacking techniques.
