The Delhi Capitals (DC) will land in Visakhapatnam seven days before they face the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 opener. Like last year, DC will play two home matches in Vizag, and then they will return to their home base of Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
Delhi Capitals to reach Vizag soon
Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) secretary Sana Satish confirmed that Axar Patel-led side will hold practice sessions at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, commonly known as the Vizag Stadium, soon.
However, LSG wouldn’t reach Visakhapatnam before the eve of the match, March 23.
“All arrangements are being made for the accommodation of the players and their practice sessions. In coordination with all the stakeholders, we are putting efforts to make the matches a grand success,” Sana Satish told The Hindu.
For the uninformed, Vizag Stadium has undergone a facelift. Before the IPL 2025 season, the ACA has spent Rs 40 crore on renovations of the stadium. Of this, around Rs 9.50 crore was spent on replacing the halogen lights with LED flights. Sanitation, fire safety, and air conditioning have also been improved. New lifts have also been installed.
