On what was one of the most unfortunate days in cricket, last year on this very day, star Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant was involved in an unfortunate car accident while going to his home. Fortunately, Pant survived the accident, and a year after that unfateful day, he is fit and healthy. During this difficult time, his IPL franchise, the Delhi Capitals, has stood with him through thick and thin.
Such was his adoration and belief in his franchise that he was a regular in the DC dugout in IPL 2023. The franchise reciprocated this and named him as their skipper ahead of the IPL 2024 edition, showing their faith in Rishabh Pant.
To show their immense love and support for him, the Delhi Capitals have released a 5-minute video on their X (formerly Twitter) account 1 year after the accident, showing Pant’s journey with the franchise since.
The video features Delhi Capitals teammates Axar Patel and Khaleel Ahmed talking about their friend. Axar talked about how scared he was when he first heard the heartbreaking news and labelled him as a ‘fighter’ for his incredible recovery. On the other hand, Khaleel stated how the accident has changed Rishabh Pant and his outlook on life.
