Shivam Dube, an RR discard, joined Uthappa and the duo played out a few overs of spin, with CSK reaching 60/2 at the halfway mark.

Both Uthappa and Dube and got to their fifties and then went past their 100-run partnership, eventually putting on 165 for the 3rd wicket, the biggest partnership this season. Uthappa scored a career-best 88, while Shivam Dube remained unbeaten on 95 as CSK put on 216 in their 20 overs, the biggest total of the IPL 2022.
