The gamble paid off as Rahul went for a big shot, only to find Gaikwad stationed perfectly at extra cover, who took a simple catch to send his opposition captain back to the pavilion.

The hero of the night for LSG was undoubtedly Marcus Stoinis. Stepping up to the plate in the very first over after the early dismissal of KL Rahul, Stoinis played a knock for the ages. He single-handedly steered LSG to a historic win, dismantling the CSK bowling attack with sheer power and precision. His innings was a masterclass and truly one of the major highlights of the match. Stoinis smashed a belligerent 124 runs off just 63 deliveries, boasting a phenomenal strike rate of 196.83. This knock was remarkable not just for its brutality, but also for its timing. He was the bedrock of LSG’s chase, scoring nearly 60% of their total runs.
