CSK Playing XI vs RCB: Chennai Super Kings have had their worst start in IPL history as the defending champions have lost all of their 4 games this season. CSK entered a new era under the captaincy of Ravindra Jadeja but all has not gone according to the plan as the Yellow Army sits second from the bottom. One of the most successful teams in the league, CSK will eye a quick fix and hope to bounce back quickly, and a lot will depend on Jadeja and the playing XI he chooses for the game against RCB. Ravindra Jadeja and Chennai Super Kings have a mountain to climb after the defending champions lost all four of their games so far. The absence of Deepak Chahar and the loss of Ruturaj Gaikwad’s form has particularly hurt the four-time champions, and the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore is essentially a do-or-die encounter for CSK.

Like head coach Stephen Fleming admitted, CSK have been a distant second in all their games and Jadeja will be keen to address the issues when he names his playing XI for the game on Tuesday. Considering form and CSK’s lack of depth and options, they are likely to retain the same combination from the game against SRH, which they lost by 8 wickets.

Probable CSK Playing XI vs RCB

  1. Ruturaj Gaikwad
  2. Robin Uthappa
  3. Moeen Ali
  4. Ambati Rayudu
  5. Ravindra Jadeja
  6. Shivam Dube
  7. MS Dhoni
  8. Dwayne Bravo
  9. Chris Jordan
  10. Maheesh Theekshana
  11. Mukesh Choudhary

What changes could CSK make? Bowling has been a major let down for CSK this season and the absence of a wrsit spinner has particularly hurt the side. Theekshana made his debut vs SRH but was far from impressive, meaning Prashant Solanki could get a game despite his relative inexperience. Solanki’s inclusion could give CSK the chance to play either Adam Milne or Dwaine Pretorius in place of Mukesh Choudhary.

Robin Uthappa has blown hot and cold this season and Gaikwad’s continued struggle for runs could see the return of Devon Conway. The Kiwi was dropped after a solitary game and could slot anywhere in the batting order, should Jadeja opt for the change.
