Nothing is more important to a man than his family. While the whole cricketing world was revolving around Ravichandran Ashwin ahead of his 100th Test, the legendary spinner was reveling in the fact that his wife and daughters were by his side. Receiving his 100th cap with his family and teammates around him, Ashwin couldn’t have asked for anything better.
Before the start of play on Day 1, BCCI interviewed his family. His wife, Prithi, talked out the hard work he has put in over the years, and being overwhelmed by the support he has received, his daughters simply said, “Congratulations, Daddy, do well.”.
“It’s been a lot actually. The build-up to it has been unbelievable. We were looking to look at it as another game but I don’t think that happens when you come close to the milestone. So, considering the last few weeks that he has had, we think that this is a great start to what’s to come and it’s an insane achievement how far he has come. With the help of his mates, family and the massive support system that he has got. His own hardwork – it’s surreal. A bit lost now, but it is very nice, ” Ashwin’s wife said.
