Clutch queen: Harmanpreet Kaur slams fifty in WPL 2025 Final under pressure

Harmanpreet Kaur delivered a captain’s knock, scoring a crucial fifty to rescue Mumbai Indians in the WPL 2025 final.

Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur stepped up when it was needed the most. She played a captain’s knock, scoring a crucial 50 off 35 balls for Mumbai Indians in the final of the Women’s Premier League 2025 against Delhi Capitals while batting first. By the time of writing, the team has already reached the 100-run mark in the 15th over. She is still not out. She felt a little bit uncomfortable after the half century, but soon picked herself up and continued playing.

3rd fifty for Harmanpreet in WPL 2025

Harmanpreet has scored her third half-century of the season. She is the third-highest scorer for Mumbai Indians this season and played a brilliant knock in the final when it mattered the most. Her other two fifties came against Gujarat Giants at the same stadium and against RCB in Bengaluru.

Came in a tough situation

She walked in at a tough moment in the match when the team was struggling during the power play. Mumbai Indians had lost two wickets for just 14 runs in the fifth over. That’s when Harmanpreet stepped up at No. 4 and anchored the innings brilliantly. She built a solid partnership with Nat Sciver-Brunt to rescue the team from a collapse. In the 2023 WPL final, she played against the same team but was dismissed for 37 runs, but it was a much-needed innings from her, which helped the team to clinch the trophy.
