Karanjeet Singh walked out to bat with tape on his mouth during the Entertainers Cricket League (ECL) 2025 match between Chennai Smashers and Rajasthan Rangers. He was involved in a heated argument with Rajasthan Rangers’ Gulshan and later complained to the umpire. However, no action was taken, leading Karanjeet to stage a silent protest by taping his mouth shut.

It reminded fans of the Kieron Pollard when he pulled off stant during an IPL match in 2015 between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

During a match at Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium, Kieron Pollard repeatedly tried to unsettle Chris Gayle with comments and gestures. Unimpressed, Gayle’s reaction prompted umpires Richard Illingworth and Vineet Kulkarni to step in and warn Pollard. Unhappy with the reprimand, Pollard protested dramatically by taping his mouth shut—a moment that went viral. The game saw MI defeat RCB by 19 runs, securing their first win of their title-winning season.
