Chants ‘Kohli Kohli’ surrounds Stadium as Naveen ul Haq bowls in BAN vs AFG WC clash

Afghanistan pacer Naveen ul Haq was welcomed with the chants of Virat Kohli as he came out to bowl against Bangladesh in a World Cup on Saturday. To note, the Afghani side had to suffer a defeat in their opening match as they faced the Bangla Tigers in Dharamshala.

The ugly spat between Kohli and Naveen ul Haq was one of the most talked-about last Indian Premier League. Naveen, who plays for the Lucknow Super Giants, and Virat Kohli got into a furious altercation during a game, which nearly spiralled out of hand. Since then, Naveen has been under the radar of the Indian fans as they don’t leave any chance to mock Naveen.

Earlier, Naveen had also given his reaction on being teased by the Kohli chants. “I enjoy it. I like everyone in the ground chanting his (Virat Kohli) name or any other player’s name. It gives me passion to play well for my team,” said Naveen.

“Well I don’t concentrate on the outside or the noise from outside or anything else. I just focus on my own cricket and my own process. Crowd chanting or anyone saying something doesn’t affect me. As professional sportsmen you have to take this in your stride. One do when you don’t good for your team, fans are going to give it to you. And when you do good for your team, same people are going to chant your name. Basically this is part and parcel of the game,” said Naveen.

Naveen had a decent return in the national side as he grabbed one wicket of Mehedi Hasan Miraz. The right-arm pacer gave 31 runs in his 3.4 overs spell. However, his efforts were not good enough to stop the Bangladeshi side. Meanwhile, Miraz was adjudged player of the match for his efforts with both bat and the ball.
