“Change in format to help Ro-Ko”: Sanjay Bangar confident of IND vs ENG ODIs helping in building confidence of star batters

Virat Kohli's last ODI outing came in an away trip to Sri Lanka where he failed to score big runs

The India Cricket Team will be playing a 3-match ODI series against England right before the ICC Champions Trophy. Also this is a perfect opportunity for both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to regain their form. The star batters have been in poor form off late. Sanjat Bangar claimed that switching to the ODI format would help the confidence of both the batters.

The focus has definitely shifted towards the ICC mega event. Bangar claimed that India’s past success in the 50-over format will do good to both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for the upcoming two series. The two star batters have been unable to pile up big scores in the Test series against England and the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

Ro-Ko keen to revive form before Champions Trophy

Questions have definitely been raised about the future of both the star batters in ODIs. Reports claim that Rohit Shamra could be playing his final two ODI series if he doesn’t improve his form overnight. In the BGT, Rohit could only score 31 runs in 5 innings, while Virat Kohli managed 191 runs in 11 innings.

“Both Virat and Rohit will go down as all-time great white-ball players. If you make a list, their names will certainly be there. A change in format and their past performances in ODIs should give them confidence,” Sanjay Bangar said in a Star Sports interaction.

After their torried outings, the two returned to play domestic cricket. In the Ranji Trophy game, both the batters failed to put up big scores raising huge concerns.

“It will be interesting to see how Rohit plays because he has had some low scores of late,” Bangar added.
