Champions Trophy schedule likely this week, despite PCB and BCCI stalemate on host country

It is certain that Team India would not travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025, starting in Feb, March.

The schedule of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has been a major concern for the broadcasters right now. With the ongoing confusion between the PCB and the BCCI, the tournament’s schedule has not been announced as yet, that was due to come out last week. India has maintained that they would not travel to Pakistan, and would only play in hybrid model, while Pakistan has not budged from its position.

PCB vs BCCI at Champions Trophy

It is a stalemate for now. But as per fresh reports, the Champions Trophy schedule will most likely be announced this week itself. As per a report in India Today, the “it shall be out soon”. “We are still in discussions with the host and participating members on the Champions Trophy schedule. It should be out soon, likely in a couple of days or so,” a source was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, the report also suggested that the stakeholders are trying to convince the PCB to agree for the hybrid model. “The PCB has also been made aware of the financial consequences if they withdraw from the event. Pakistan has been urged to refrain from making statements against the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and to start working towards a hybrid model to facilitate smooth planning for the eight-team tournament,” the report added.

Champions Trophy Schedule Soon

If that is not enough, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has made it clear that they are ready to speak with the Indian counterparts. “Every other team that has qualified for the Champions Trophy is ready to come. No one has any concern,” Naqvi said.

“If India has any concerns, we will talk, and we will ensure that concerns are taken care of. I don’t think there is any reason why India can’t come to Pakistan. Hopefully, all the teams will come,” he added.
