The Indian team will have a crack at yet another ICC final. Since 2023, they have entered four ICC finals, winning just one of them so far. The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 could offer another happy ending after the T20 World Cup last year. To get ready for the biggest match of the year, captain Rohit Sharma is leaving no stone unturned. In fact, the Indian captain and vice-captain Shubman Gill were the only two to have a batting session on the eve of the ICC Champions Trophy final. While the entire Team India was supposed to go straight to the Dubai International Cricket Stadium (DICS), both Rohit and Gill opted to have a session at the ICC Academy with the help of coaches Sitanshu Kotak and Abhishek Nayar.
Extra batting for Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill before final
It was fascinating to get to know that Shubman Gill had his day out on the eve of the final as well. This is despite he batted for more than an hour on Friday alongside Virat Kohli. As for Rohit Sharma, he had an easy run on Friday, and not a grinding session. Both of them fine tuned their skills a bit more before the much awaited final. Soon, both of them joined the rest of the team in the Dubai Stadium, where they had a fun set of fielding drills.
Head coach Gautam Gambhir and Rohit Sharma were also seen analyzing the Dubai pitch. It will be the same strip that was used for the India vs Pakistan encounter on February 23. Expect spinners to rule the roost.
