‘Champions of boundary count’, Netizens slam England as South Africa humiliate defending champs

After conceding 399 runs with the ball, England were all out for 170 against South Africa in the World Cup match played at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Team England were trolled yet again in this after following their humiliating loss to South Africa at the Cricket World Cup 2023. The defending champions crumbled while chasing a 400 total and were all out for 170. This is their second successive loss in the tournament and the Three Lions continue to get trolled on social media.

Earlier, England won the toss and opted to bowl first. Heinrich Klaasen hammered 67-ball 107 while Reeza Hendricks (85), Rassie van der Dussen (60) and Marko Jansen (75) thrashed England bowlers to post 399/7.

Meanwhile this is the first match in this World Cup 2023 at the Wankhede Stadium. The Stadium, also called the “Mecca of India Cricket”, saw a full packed crowd for ENG vs SA clash.

However the match turned out to be completely one-sided. While the Proteas batters entertained the crowd earlier in the day, the bowlers completely dominated as England were battered in the contest.
