‘Celebrations are secret’ Renuka keeps mum on India’s celebration after historic Test win

This was the India women's cricket team's first ever win against Australia in Test cricket.

After a historic win, Renuka Singh and Pooja Vastrakar have revealed the mantra that helped them win their first-ever Test match against Australia and how they’ll celebrate this famous victory. Playing just their 11th Test against the Aussies, the India women’s cricket team broke their winless streak against them in the IND vs AUS Women Test at the Wankhede Stadium.

In the post-match interview, the Indian pace battery, Renuka Singh, and Pooja Vastrakar revealed their plans for the match. However, when asked about how they’d celebrate their victory, both Renuka and Vastrakar remained mum.

“Very happy, first win against Australia. History has been created, and very happy. [On batting] There is a lot of focus on my batting, but just wanted that my bowling didn’t come yesterday, so just wanted to bat and bat.,” said Vastrakar on her approach to the final day of the Test.

However, it was Renuka who stole the show with her comment. When asked about what new bowling coach Troy Cooley told her, she said, “He just asked us to be patient, and the wickets will come.”

When asked about how they’ll celebrate this historic win, Renuka said, “The celebrations are a secret; I won’t reveal.”
