Put into bat by Kerala Strikers, Akhil Akkineni soon proved why it was a wrong call by their rivals. The Telugu Warriors captain was at his imperious best scoring 91 off just 30 balls. The 28-year-old scored more than 60% of his team’s runs in the 1st innings. The Warriors backed by his knock reached 154 in their 10 overs.
Akkineni reached his 50 in just 20 balls, before going berserk at the fag end of the innings. He raced to 90 off 28 deliveries, before holding out to Vijay Yesudas at the cover. His score is the highest in the tournament so far. Akhil and Prince have brought up a 100-run stand. Princ managed 45 off 23 balls, before picking up 4 wickets.
