PAK vs AUS 1st Test: Centurion David Warner’s wife takes cheeky jibe at Mitchell Johnson

37-year-old Candice has never shied away from challenging David’s former teammate Johnson, with the pair going head-to-head over the opener’s form for Australia earlier this year

Australian batter David Warner’s wife Candice Warner clipped Mitchell Johnson with a single word after her husband David hit a fantastic ton in the PAK vs AUS 1st Test.

37-year-old Candice has never shied away from challenging David’s former teammate Johnson, with the pair going head-to-head over the opener’s form for Australia earlier this year.

Prior to the first Test against Pakistan at Perth, Johnson took another dig at the veteran, saying he did not deserve a farewell this summer, not just because of his poor form but also because of his involvement in the sandpaper affair.

David, on the other hand, silenced Johnson in a big way after putting on a good show against Pakistan, scoring a hundred on day one at the Optus Stadium to put Pat Cummins’ side in control.

Not surprisingly, Candice then took to X (previously Twitter) to take a shot at Johnson.

She posted a picture of David Warner after his century, and captioned the post with the ‘shush’ emoji, clearly taking a shot at the ex-bowler.

As David crossed the three-digit mark, he let out a cry of joy in a clear message to Johnson.

“There is going to be criticism, but you have got to take that and there is no better way to silence it than to put runs on the board,” Warner said to Adam Gilchrist after the innings.

Whatever the debate, the veteran Australian batter is going out with a bang for sure!
