Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) suffered their fifth consecutive loss in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Monday, April 15 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. After suffering another defeat, the question arises whether RCB can still qualify for IPL 2024 playoffs? Let us find out.
Can RCB qualify for IPL playoffs?
The Red Army cannot afford to lose a single game in the ongoing season and will have to win all of their remaining matches for smooth qualification for the playoffs. If Faf du Plessis and Co. manage to win all of their remaining games, then they will finish the league stage with 16 points which will prove to be enough to seal their berth in the playoffs.
However, if they manage to lose one more game, they will finish with 14 points on the points table which will not turn out to be enough as they will have to massively beat other teams on the net run rate.
RCB are slated to face Kolkata Knight Riders in their next group stage match of the IPL 2024. The clash will be played at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. RCB needs to win the match at any cost to stay alive for the IPL 2024 playoffs race.
