India will play South Africa on Sunday (November 5), but the mega clash is not grabbing eyeballs yet. Instead, Virat Kohli’s birthday is making all the headlines. The legendary batter will turn 36 on November 5, and the CAB President is making sure Kohli remembers this birthday for a lifetime. After announcing a birthday cake for the former India captain, the CAB President has now promised to distribute 70,000 masks for spectators at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

CAB President said, “We want every fan at the Eden Gardens wearing Virat Kohli masks as he walks in. We planning to distribute around 70,000 Kohli masks on his birthday on 5th November,” as reported by Times of India.

The latest announcement by the CAB President is sure to excite Kohli fans all over the world. More so, the fans who have booked tickets for IND vs SA clash. A laser show is also planned during the interval on Kohli’s birthday.

“I am not sharing the pictures yet, for let that be a surprise. Also, we plan to host a fireworks show during the mid-innings interval for Virat and the crowd. It will be our way of celebrating his birthday, and our way of saying that the entire Kolkata crowd are part of the celebrations. We are sure of a full house and everyone in the stands is a Virat fan. It is a gesture on behalf of all of them,” Ganguly added.

Undoubtedly, Kohli’s birthday has overshadowed the potential mouth-watering clash between IND vs SA. The Men in Blue have brushed aside top teams like England, Australia, and New Zealand. South Africa will pose a stiffer challenge as they have been a revelation in the World Cup this year by playing an attacking brand of cricket.

The Proteas will try to get rid of Kohli as early as possible, as he is in red-hot form. Also, the right-hand batter will aim to equal Tendulkar’s record tally of 49 ODI centuries.
