BPL 2025: After Durbar Rajshahi players stranded in hotel, owner promises to “clear dues by Feb 10”

BPL 2025: Durbar Rajshahi is a new team to join the BPL roster, and in 12 matches played, have won only 6, and are in fifth position in points table.

The current BPL 2025 has been in the news for all the wrong reasons, where first there were allegations of match-fixing at spot-fixing, and now there is controversy over the non-payment of dues to the players by franchise Durbar Rajshahi. Not just that — four players — Mohammad Haris (Pakistan), Ryan Burl (Zimbabwe), Miguel Cummins (West Indies), Mark Deyal (West Indies), and Aftab Alam (Afghanistan), are stranded in the team hotel, since the dues are not cleared.

The situation took another dramatic turn when the team bus driver Mohammed Babul refused to give the kit bags of players, alleging he hadn’t been paid. “It’s a matter of shame and regret. If they had paid us, we would have given back the kit bags to the players,” Babul was quoted as saying.

Now, owner of the Durbar Rajshahi, Md Shafiq Rahman has promised to clear all the outstanding amounts of all the parties concerned by Feb 10, as per various reports.

“He also assured that payments would be made not only to the players but to everyone involved with the team in each instalment. Failure to comply will result in necessary legal actions being taken against him.”
