Blow for MI ahead of IPL 2025 playoffs? Tilak Varma, Deepak Chahar seen limping

In what could be a double blow for MI, Deepak Chahar and Tilak Varma may be injured just before the Eliminator clash vs GT

Mumbai Indians may have suffered a double blow in the form of possible injuries to Deepak Chahar and Tilak Varma. Ahead of MI’s Eliminator clash against GT, a video of Varma and Chahar limping at the airport has surfaced. Hardik Pandya and co. will take on Shubman Gill and company in the IPL 2025 playoffs clash on May 30 in Mullanpur.

Are Chahar and Tilak injured?

In a video that is going viral on social media, both Varma and Chahar were seen struggling to walk while passing through an airport checkpoint. Varma has only managed to score 274 runs from 14 matches in this season, and has been heavily inconsistent.

Chahar, on the other hand, has taken 11 wicket from 14 matches for MI in IPL 2025. He has been a crucial part of the pace attack spearheaded by Bumrah and Boult.

Deepak’s history with injuries began in 2022 when he suffered a quadricep tear. Since then, he has also suffered injuries to his back, ankle and hamstring. He was released by CSK ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction and was roped in by MI for Rs 9.25 crore.

Varma had also hurt his knee during MI’s game against PBKS. Earlier in the league, he had been retired out in what was a controversial move. Later, skipper Hardik Pandya had revealed that Varma had sustained a hand injury which had forced the team to take that decision.
