Bengal cricket team have suffered a blow ahead of Ranji Trophy second leg as Abhimanyu Easwaran has been ruled out of action for a few weeks. The opener, arguably one of the best & consistent batters for the side, was expected to return to domestic cricket after warming the bench throughout the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. However, with this injury, his return is expected to be further delayed.
No Easwaran for Bengal in Ranji Trophy
As per Times of India, a BCCI source informed that Easwaran had sustained a hairline fracture on his middle finger on his right hand while playing club cricket. The prolific opener is expected to be out of action for a few weeks, the report added. Bengal will now be under immense pressure, given that they also don’t have the services of veteran Mohammed Shami as he returns to international cricket after 14 long months.
“Yes, he sustained a hairline fracture on the middle finger of his right hand while playing a club match,” a BCCI source told TOI.
