Bizarre! IND vs NZ Cricket World Cup clash paused due to fog in Dharamshala

The whole ground was covered with fog as the IND vs NZ match had to be stopped with the players waiting for the conditions to improve.

The IND vs NZ World Cup match in Dharamshala had to be suspended for some time due to fog. The incident occured during the second innings of the match with Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer at the crease for the Indian side. Chasing a total of 274 runs, skipper Rohit Sharma gave another blistering start before express pacer Lockie Ferguson scalped the wickets of both the openers.

Earlier in the IND vs NZ match, India won the toss and opted to have a bowl first. The pacers gave an excellent start to the home side as they scalped the Kiwi openers in quick succession. However, Daryl Mitchell and Rachin Ravindra were solid with the bat. Ravindra got out after completing another World Cup fifty. However, Mitchell went on to complete his fifth century.

In the bowling department, Mohammed Shami was excellent with the ball as he completed a five-wicket haul in his first World Cup match. To note, Shami replaced all-rounder Hardik Pandya in the playing XI. Apart from that, Shardul Thakur also missed out with batter Suryakumar Yadav taking his place.

Before the match, both India and New Zealand had won four games each in the World Cup. The winner of the IND vs NZ will almost seal his semi-final spot in the marquee event. It must be noted that India has not defeated New Zealand in any ICC event since 2003.
