Big Blow for India Cricket Team, Mohammed Shami unlikely to be fit for IND vs SA Test series

India Cricket Team receives a major blow, ace pacer Mohammed Shami unlikely to be available for India vs South Africa Test series

The Indian Cricket Team has been hit with a massive injury crisis. Ace pacer Mohammed Shami is in major doubt for the India vs South Africa (IND vs SA) series. The prized bowler who is nursing an ankle injury is currently recovering from his injury and is likely to be ruled out for the two IND vs SA Test matches.

As per reports from Cricbuzz, Shami continues to recover from his ankle injury and will not travel to South Africa. The last batch of players, especially the Test contingent will fly for South Africa on 15th December and includes big names like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravichandran Ashwin.

Mohammed Shami was included only in the Tests for the India Tour of South Africa series. However, while announcing the Test squad, the BCCI made it clear that Shami was injured and his availability for the Test matches will be determined by his fitness.

As of now, no replacement for Shami has been named in the Indian Squad. It is highly unlikely that a replacement will be named in fact. The Indian side has 75 players in their roster who are touring South Africa and if needed a suitable player will be chosen from the mix.

Harshit Rana is set to travel in the last batch of players and will be the nets bowler. Shami’s injury will once again bring the dynamics of workload management into play. With crucial WTC Points up for grabs, it is expected that India will go all guns blazing in the red ball format of the game.
