The India Cricket Team went on to lift the ICC Champions Trophy in Dubai. The Men in Blue defeated the Black Caps by 4 wickets to lift the silverware. India also went unbeaten all through the tournament earning praises. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) supremos too congratulated India.
The BCCI also lauded Rohit Sharma for his supreme captaincy. India first defeated Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand in the group stage games. Then India went on to beat Australia in the semi-finals and finally the Kiwis again in the finals in Dubai.

“This triumph is a landmark moment for Indian cricket, following the high of last year’s T20 World Cup success. To dominate yet another global tournament and bring home the Champions Trophy is a phenomenal achievement. The team has played with unparalleled consistency and character, and I congratulate captain Rohit Sharma, Head Coach Gautam Gambhir, and the entire squad for their historic success,” BCCI President Roger Binny said.
The BCCI praised Rohit Sharma for his leadership qualities. The apex board also lauded him for leading by an example. Rohit was ultimately adjudged the man of the final for his supreme knock of 76 runs in the 252-run chase.
