BCCI Contract 2023-24: Jaiswal to Patidar, new entrants to receive India contracts

10 new players have been given a BCCI contract, with Dhruv Jurel and Sarfaraz Khan receiving one if they meet certain criteria.

The BCCI Central Contract for the upcoming cricket season (2023-24) is out. Big names like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah have naturally been given a Grade A+ contract, and several new names have found themselves with an India cricket team contract following their blockbuster performances.

Ten new names have received the contracts. Out of these 10, only one, Yashasvi Jaiswal, has been given high priority and named in Grade B. All the others have been given a Grade C contract, while Dhruv Jurel and Sarfaraz Khan will only be given a Grade C contract if they play a minimum of 3 Tests, 8 ODIs, or 10 T20Is.

Jaiswal, who has represented the India cricket team in T20Is and Tests, has been awarded a Grade B contract. His success in both formats has seen him named alongside Surya Kumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Kuldeep Yadav, and Axar Patel. The other nine have been given a Grade C contract as they have represented India in just limited-over cricket.

As for Jurel and Sarfaraz, if they play the India vs England 5th Test, they’ll receive the contract on a pro-rata basis.
