Bangladesh register bizarre record, become first side to get bowled out after 100-run opening partnership

Bangladesh has been shattered by Zimbabwean bowlers as they got bundled after building a century partnership, leaving them setting a bizarre record in T20Is

In the ongoing 4th T20I match between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh, cricket viewers witnessed something unusual, as Bangladesh’s batters got all out with a score of 143 runs against Zimbabwe. Scoring a low total is not unusual, but what is peculiar is that they went all out after making a 100-run opening partnership.

The scenario is surely not good for the Bangla Tigers, as the World Cup is around the corner, and getting wrecked by a lower-ranked team is giving an indication that there is a lot to work on for the Bangladesh team.

What went wrong!

Everything went wrong for the Bangla Tigers. Without a doubt, they started well as they built an opening partnership of 100 runs, thanks to Bangladesh opening batters Tanzid Hasan and Soumya Sarkar. But after they both got out, other batters fell like bowling pins one after another.

Apart from their opening batters, everyone registered single-digit scores, which looked like nothing more than a pin code. Zimbabwean spinner Brian Bennett and pacer Luke Jongwe emerged as heroes by picking 2 and 3 wickets, respectively. Bangladesh’s batting is surely under scrutiny as they approach the T20 World Cup.

They should rethink their batting strategy. As of now, things have not been really good for them.
