Bangladesh Cricket Board gets government nod to tour Pakistan

According to the proposed draft sent by PCB, the first three matches are scheduled in Faisalabad on May 27, 29 and June 1, respectively, while the final two T20Is are scheduled to take place in Lahore on June 3 and 5.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has received approval from its government to tour Pakistan for the five-match T20I series. At first, Bangladesh will play two-match T20I series against UAE in Sharjah on May 17 and 19. Bangladesh was originally slated to play five T20Is in Pakistan from May 25 to June 3. However, the series will now kick-start on May 27 and end on June 5.

We have sent a letter to NSC to give it to the ministry (sports) yesterday (May 13). Day before yesterday I had given a message to the advisor (sports) regarding the tour and even today I had spoken with him in this regard,” Faruque told Cricbuzz on Wednesday.

Tour revised due to PSL

The Bangladesh tour of Pakistan is revised due to the Pakistan Super League final to be held on 25 which was earlier scheduled to host the five-match T20I series opener in Faisalabad.

According to the proposed draft sent by PCB, the first three matches are scheduled in Faisalabad on May 27, 29 and June 1, respectively, while the final two T20Is are scheduled to take place in Lahore on June 3 and 5.

However, it has been learned that players and officials are concerned about traveling to Pakistan due to security issues. “I insisted that the PSL [would] have started and the IPL was going to resume soon. I am not sure whether it is sustainable or not (going to Pakistan) and if they give me any directives from the government we will start talking to the players and we have to talk with all the stakeholders,” he said.

First we have to get the clearance from the government and later we need to talk with the players and there are some other details that we might need to sort out like venues and all those things. We cannot take the decision alone as it is very sensitive issues” he added.
