Babar Azam to file defamation, cybercrime case? Fans blast PCB, Zaka Ashraf

Babar Azam is likely to take action, and file a defamation case after his private chats with Zaka Ashraf was leaked on social media

Pakistan Cricket Team are having a nightmarish time on the field as well as off the field. After four losses, Babar Azam & Co are on the brink of elimination in the World Cup. Worst, off the field, PCB chief Zaka Ashraf is also about to sack Azam as the skipper of the team. However, before that, the Pakistani skipper can file a defamation and cybercrime case against PCB official or chief Ashraf as his private chats has been leaked.

A viral WhatsApp message was aired LIVE on local Pakistani TV, which shows that Babar didn’t try to call Ashraf as many reports have claimed.

One of the fans shared the clip on Twitter and said, “Babar Azam should file cybercrime and defamation cases against a PCB official who has leaked his personal chat as well as the journalists and channel who displayed his chat in public without Babar’s consent. This is nothing but a third-grade act by whoever is involved! Shame! “

In an interview with a local news channel, Ashraf refuted these allegations, saying that the Pakistan captain had never gotten in touch with him directly. “He [Latif] says that I don’t pick up his [Babar’s] call,” Ashraf clarified. “He’s never given me a call. The chief operating officer or the director of international cricket are expected to speak with the captain of the team.”

Neither Ashraf nor Babar have spoken about the issue publicly. However, the latest act has not gone too well with netizens. They are blaming Zaka for this shameful act of leaking Babar’s texts. Also, it is still not clear, who messaged the Pakistani skipper in the first place regarding the issue.

For the unversed, after the loss to South Africa, speculations were rife that Babar would not be the skipper anymore after the World Cup. However, PCB released a press release stating that there will be wholesale changes after the showpiece event is over, but the board urged its fans to support Babar Azam & Co till the WC is over.
