Babar Azam slams media over ‘powerplay intent’ criticism following ENG vs PAK series defeat

After losing a series with a 2-0 scoreline against England just before the T20 World Cup, it looks like there are many questions critics have for Pakistan skipper Babar Azam.

Star Pakistan batter and skipper Babar Azam is under scrutiny after the team lost the series against England just before the T20 World Cup. Once again, his team’s form and, rightly to say, the team’s “intent” are thrown under the bus. Critics believe the Pakistan cricket team is playing this T20 cricket without any plan or ambition. Although it seems like the Pakistan cricket captain has a different opinion from the critics.

Speaking to the media after the 2-0 loss against the Three Lions. Babar Azam said, “After every second game, critics question Pakistan’s intent. Today, we struggled due to wickets falling in the middle overs, which was unexpected. We need to find a solution for middle-over batting, and now players need to step up before heading to the mega event.”

England Secures Convincing 2-0 Series Victory Over Pakistan

Speaking more about the series between England and Pakistan, in all the faceoffs, England have convincingly beaten Pakistan. In the 4th T20I, despite Babar Azam’s aggressive 36 off 22 and Mohammed Rizwan’s small but fiery innings, it didn’t change any structure as other Pakistan batters had failed to capitalize.

The team failed to construct big runs in 20 overs. On the other hand, England didn’t face any difficulties chasing the score of 158 runs. As the 2022 T20 world champions clinched the game in just 16 overs. Going into the T20 World Cup, this series is a watershed moment for the men in green, since there are a lot of things they need to figure out. It will be interesting to see how Pakistan turns things around.
