Babar Azam set to crush Virat Kohli unique record in IND vs PAK Asia Cup match

In the much-anticipated India vs Pakistan (IND vs PAK) match on Saturday in Kandy, Men in Green captain Babar Azam has a chance to surpass Indian star batter Virat Kohli for this unique record.

Babar Azam vs Virat Kohli in IND vs PAK

On Wednesday, the Pakistani captain set a new record by scoring his 19th ODI century in the Asia Cup 2023 opener. He beat Hasim Amla of South Africa, who needed 104 innings, to become the player with the most hundreds (19), whilst Babar Azam did it in just 102.

For the same result, Virat Kohli needed 124 innings.

Thanks to Babar Azam 151, Pakistan destroyed Nepal by an enormous margin of 238 runs. “This game helped us feel more confident going into the game against India,” after the game, Babar remarked.

When Pakistan decided to bat instead of field, Babar Azam hammered 151, his 19th ODI century, while Iftikhar Ahmed (109 not out) hit his first ODI century to lead Pakistan to an impressive 342 for six.

In response, Nepal was bowled out for just 104 in 23.4 overs, with Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf each collecting two wickets, including four for Shadab Khan.
