Pacer Avesh Khan’s four-wicket haul helped Madhya Pradesh strangle Vidarbha. The two sides locked horns in the semi-finals of the Ranji Trophy 2024. Batting first, Vidarbha were dismissed for just 170 runs in the 1st innings, courtesy of Avesh. Madhya Pradesh finished Day 1 at 47-1. They trail their opposition by 123 runs.

In just 56.4 overs, the first inning of Vidarbha was over. Settling for just 170 runs, barring Karun Nair, no one stood up. With momentum on their side, Madhya Pradesh erased the trail down to 123 runs with nine wickets still in hand and four days left to put themselves ahead.
