As per a report on The Sydney Morning Herald, an Australia team spokesperson confirmed that Ashton Agar was subjected to the death threat. However, the investigations revealed that the death threat was from a fake Instagram account potentially from India.

“Cricket Australia is aware of a social media post, of which the nature and content has been investigated by the PCB, CA and combined government security agencies. There are extensive security plans in place for this type of social media activity, which, in this case, is not considered a risk. No further comment will be made at this time,” Cricket Australia said in a statement.

A portion of the message read: “This is a warning for your husband Ashton Agar if he comes to tour against Pakistan he won’t come [back] alive.”
A full-strength Australia Test squad reached Pakistan on Sunday and will have their first practice session in Rawalpindi ahead of the 1st Test starting Friday. Ashton Agar is part of both Test and white-ball squads.
This is Australia’s first tour in 24 years. Australia stopped touring Pakistan due to security threats. Recently, New Zealand abandoned the tour minutes before the 1st match after receiving death threats. England too abandoned their Pakistan tour.
