West Indies make the semis on India’s expense – West Indies needed to wait until the final ball of the tournament before they made the semi’s. South Africa’s win against India meant that West Indies ended with seven points and therefore qualified. A rain delay abandoned match also helped them as they had poor net run rate than India.
What happened last time out – In the group stage encounter, Australia piled misery on West Indies by winning the contest with seven wickets. Batting first West Indies were reduced to 131, while Australia cashed the total with ease as Ellyse Perry played an all-round knock, for which she was awarded the ‘Player of the Match’. Unfortunatley, she won’t be playing in the semi-final after being ruled out.
