However, Australia’s chase of this target took a turn, with their batting lineup collapsing to just 70 runs for the loss of six wickets. Although Marnus Labuschagne’s efforts tried to salvage the situation, they eventually succumbed, getting bowled out for 177.
On the other hand, Sri Lanka found themselves unable to defend a good total of 344 runs against Pakistan. In their innings, Sri Lankan batters Kusal Mendis and Samarawickrama both scored centuries, propelling their team past the 300-run mark. However, Pakistan’s Abdullah Shafique and Mohammed Rizwan responded with centuries of their own, resulting in a six-wicket win for the Men In Green. Sri Lanka had already experienced defeat in their opening match against South Africa, where they fell short by massive margin of 102 runs.
