AUS vs PAK 3rd Test: Rain forces early stumps on Day 2 as Pakistan struggle

Pakistan continued to struggle on Day 2 of the 3rd AUS vs PAK Test, with the bowlers managing to get rid of only the openers

Day 2 of the 3rd PAK vs AUS Test ended early after rain forced the play to be stopped at the Sydney Cricket Grounds (SCG). Resuming play on Day 2, David Warner and Usman Khawaja continued their partnership in pursuit of going past Pakistan’s 313-run 1st innings total.

Playing his farewell Test, Warner was furious with himself after he was dismissed for 34 runs. Salman Agha managed to get the Aussie opener to edge one to the slips, with Babar Azam safely clutching the ball in his hands. Davey walked off SCG with a subtle raise of the hand to acknowledge the crowd’s applause.

Usman Khawaja was the next to depart, 20 overs later after playing a patient 47-run knock off 143 deliveries. Early tea was taken shortly after, with Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne at the crease for India. While play was delayed initially because of drizzle, stumps were called eventually on Day 2 as the downpour increased.
