Ashutosh Sharma surpasses Yuvraj Singh, becomes fastest Indian to slam fifty in T20s

Ashutosh Sharma has created a massive record. He has slammed the fastest fifty by an Indian in the shortest format of the game. Ashutosh Sharma has slammed his half-century in just 11 balls beating the likes of Yuvraj Singh. Ashutosh who plays Railways struck this fine knock against Arunachal Pradesh in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Previously it was Yuvraj Singh who reached his fifty in just 12 balls in the 2007 T20 World Cup. But it is now Ashutosh who has made it to the headlines. Batting with a strike rate of 441.67 he slammed 8 sixes and a solitary four to amass 53 runs from 12 deliveries.

His blistering knock came to an end when he was dismissed just after reaching his fifty. Courtesy of his quick-firing, the Railways managed to pile up 115 runs in the last 5 overs to post a massive total of 246/5 after the end of 20 overs.

Ashutosh Sharma is a 25-year-old batter who is playing his second T20 match for Railways. Despite making his debut in the shortest format of the game back in 2018, he was playing his 10th T20 game of his career.

Despite making his debut for Madhya Pradesh back in 2018 he last played T20 for MP back in 2019. But the youngster played fifty over cricket since 2019 and is awaiting his chance to make his debut in first-class cricket.

Previously it was Yuvraj Singh who went on to slam 6 sixes against England, some 16 years ago in the 2007 T20 World Cup.
